Following the emergence of the new medications in psychiatry, the prevailing attitudes about mental health and treatment have been changing rapidly. A basic understanding of psychotropic medications is now essential in any psychotherapy practice. At the conclusion of this seminar the participants will be familiar with the main classes of psychotropic medications and how they affect their patients and the psychotherapy process. This seminar is continuously revised and updated. Attending this seminar is open to the mental health providers of all disciplines.
Dr. Kamran Rahmani, the presenter of the seminar, is a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst in private practice in New York City. He is an active member of American Academy of Psychoanalysis and Dynamic Psychiatry, American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology and Association for Academic Psychiatry. Dr. Rahmani has been awarded as the Teacher of the Year by the Department of Psychiatry at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
